Laimutė Vaidelienė

Viceminister Laimutė Vaidelienė has served as Lithuanian Vice Minister of Health since December 2014. Prior to this she worked as the Head of Department of Children’s Diseases at the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, “Kauno Klinikos”. From 2013 to 2014, she was a specialist on the Coordination Board of the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. Also, from 2012 – 2014, she was Head of the Centre of Child Chronic Respiratory Diseases and, from 2010 – 2014, she was Associate Professor in the Clinic of Child Diseases of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and Head of the Pulmonology Sector. From 2009 – 2014, she was Associate Professor in the Clinic of Child Diseases of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (2009-2010 Kaunas Medical University), where she also tutored residents. From 1995 – 2010, she was a Lecturer in the Clinic of Child Diseases at Kaunas Medical University.
She is author or co-author of 1 encyclopaedia article, 2 handbooks, 4 training publications, 11 other educational publications, and 39 articles (2 ISI Web of Science, 18 peer-reviewed publications). She is a member of the European Respiratory Society; European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; Lithuanian Physicians Society; the Board of Lithuanian Society of Paediatricians; Board of Lithuanian Society of Allergologists and Clinical Immunologists; and since 2003 she is the Deputy Chair of the Lithuanian Association of Child Pulmonology. She is a graduate of Kaunas Medical Academy and completed her residency in Paediatrics.
